Arturo Morfín was born in Mexico City in 1989. He studied music composition at the Centro de Investigación y Estudios de la Música (CIEM) under the instruction of Maria Antonieta Lozano, José Julio Díaz Infante, Enrico Chapela, Víctor Rasgado, Miguel Salmon Del Real and Esteban Chapela, amongst other great teachers. He formed part of the program Prácticas de Vuelo 2013 imparted in the Centro Mexicano para la Música y las Artes Sonoras (CMMAS) in Morelia, Michoacán. He  obtained the licenciate diploma in Music Literacy awarded by the London College of Music of the University of West London (LMusLCM). He also graduated of a two year diploma course in composition for film, theater and dance in the Núcleo Integral de Composición (NICO).

 

His music has been performed in several states of Mexico and in Canada. He has been programed twice in the Festival Internacional Cervantino and once in the Foro Internacional de Música Nueva Manuel Enríquez.

 

He has participated in composition workshops imparted by Ignacio Baca Lobera, Irvine Arditti, Hilda Paredes, the Wind Quintet of Mexico City, Beatriz Elena Martínez, Jos Zwaanenburg and Enrique Mendoza. In 2016 the CD FLUX was released by Urtext Digital Classics, which includes a composition by Arturo Morfín, GAAP, for bass flute and electronics, performed by Alejandro Escuer.
