The twenty-fifth spirit of the Ars Goetia is a powerful count that commands thirty six legions of lesser demons. His name is Glasya-Labolas. He shows himself as a dog with gryphon wings. In an instant he can teach any art or science. He is a violent demon, bringer of death and destruction, creator of oceans of blood.

I created this piece as an exploration of my own violent nature, my own unrestrained wrath and my own destructive instinct. The structure of the composition is inspired in the ritual to evoque the demon. The first section represents the preparations, the second represents the drawing of the magic circles, the third represents the conjuration to call him, and the fourth represents the encounter with the spirit.

Glasya-Labolas was composed within the Program to strengthen young composers in the area of electroacustic music Prácticas de Vuelo 2013 organized by the CMMAS. The piece was premiered in the Festival Internacional Cervantino 2013 in the Salón del Consejo Universitario, in Guanajuato.
